Castril de la Pena is located in a Natural Park deep in rural Andalucia. It is the perfect opportunity to experience the Real Spain and the local Spanish people. Here in Castril little English is spoken by the local people. They are friendly, genuine people who are pleased to welcome people from other nationalities into the village with open arms.

Optional extras (prices upon request) include:

  • Cultural experience - visit Granada and the Alhambra Palace
  • Experience a typical Spanish breakfast of toast with tomato and oil (tostada con tomate y aceite) in a local bar in the village
  • Visit local markets and see what they have on offer
  • A variety of driveouts include visiting the Sierra de Castril Natural Park, Cazorla Natural Park, Sierra de Sagra Natural Park or Lake Negratin (Spring and autumns breaks)
  • Various activities include guided walks, mountain biking, caving, kayaking etc. (English and Spanish spoken)
  • Alternative therapies - body massage, foot massage, reiki and more (English spoken)
  • A trip to Guadix to visit a traditional cave museum and the market (Saturdays)
  • Trip to Baza where we can visit many Spanish shops and the market (Wednesdays)

Arrive Sunday


 

Settle in then take a walk to the local gorge walk. After enjoy a bocadillo or something more substantial in one of the local bars.

 


Monday
AM: Optional 2 hours of Spanish


PM: Visit the local village, have a drink in one of the local bars; walk up to the church or take a walk in the Sierra de Castril Natural Park

 

Tuesday
AM: Optional 2 hours Spanish
PM: Trip to the thermal baths / Activities of your choice

Wednesday
AM: Optional 2 hours of Spanish or therapy session/visit to Baza market
PM: Lunch followed by a swim in the indoor pool (winter months) return home

Thursday
AM: Optional 2 hours of Spanish conversation or visit to Huescar and it's market
PM: Activities of your choice

 

Friday
AM: Visit our local village and the market or spend an optional 2 hours of Spanish.

PM: Drive to Cazorla / Activities of your choice

 

Saturday
AM: Guadix market followed by a visit to the cave museum
Lunch follows on route home via Lake Negratin / Relax and get ready for your return trip
