Where we live

We live in a detached country house in a small community of Spanish houses although we have English neighbours living closeby who will be happy to meet you and talk with you during your stay.

Our house is split and you will have plenty of privacy as well as being able to spend lots of time with the family.

You will sleep downstairs in one of two bedrooms. You will have use of a full sized bathroom which will be your own (if you are the only student staying) or shared if you are coming with a friend.

There is a separate lounge/dining area where there is a TV with English satellite TV, video and DVD player, as well as a stereo. Our eldest daughter also lives downstairs, so is on hand for any immediate problems.

You will also have access to a separate kitchen, if you wish to make any snacks yourself. You will also be able to help yourself to tea and coffee downstairs.

We live 45kms from the largest town Baza which is typically Spanish although you will be able to enjoy English food in a local bar if you wish to do so. They have a market on a Wednesday morning. Huescar is 20kms from Castril to the east and is a fairly large town where you can buy most products you need. They have a good market on a Thursday morning. Pozo alcon is to the west of us and holds a market on a Monday.

We live in a natural park which is described as untouched, with rugged landscapes and spectacular scenery it is an area of natural beauty. There is very little commercial tourism here and the area remains very natural. Cazorla which is better known for it's natural park lies approximately 1 hour from Castril, up in the mountains and a drive is always worthwhile dependent upon the weather.
